Insanity MAX 30

Insanity Max 30, New Shaun T Workout
Insanity Max 30
Just over 2 years after coming out with Focus T25, Shaun T has done it again.  His new program, Insanity Max  30 will be released in December, 2014.  I have to admit, when I took the plunge and started Insanity, I had a difficult time finishing the second half of the program.  Why? Because as a full time working new mom of 2 at the time, long workouts just did not fit in my schedule.  I was ecstatic when all of these awesome trainers started coming out with short, intense home fitness programs because lets face it, surely you can block out 30 minutes of your day, right?

Insanity Max 30 is all about pushing you to your limit.  It is taking home fitness programs to the EXTREME next level in just 30 minutes a day!  This is definitely a hardcore workout that will take dedication, motivation, and solid effort. It is almost like a mental game of how far you can push yourself before you MAX OUT! I for one am super excited for this workout to come out and will DEFINITELY be running an exclusive Max 30 group.  It will be perfect timing too!  I have  no doubt that this program will stop you from putting on those holiday pounds!
Insanity Max 30, New Shaun T Workout
Insanity Max 30 Modifier

Oh, and I definitely want to note this.  Like other workouts, there WILL be a modifier in EVERY workout.  What makes this different than other programs?  Insanity Max 30 will actually come with a special DVD option so that the modifier stays on the screen AT ALL TIMES!!  For those of you who have followed a modifier in other programs, you have probably run in to the issue of not being able to see exactly how to modify a move until several seconds in to a specific exercise.  This will not be a problem with Max 30.  Setting the option and having the modifier on the screen at all times will make it easier to see and easier to follow.

Aside from knowing that this awesome new program will be available in December 2014, the details of specific release dates, price, etc have not been released yet. As sated above, I can tell you that I WILL be hosting an exclusive group for this program for my specific customers. To get a jump start, you can create a FREE BEACHBODY ACCOUNT so that I am your coach!  As your coach, I will not only be going through the program WITH you, but I will provide you with the support, motivation, and accountability to stick with it and get GREAT results!

In addition, feel free to send me a Facebook friend request so that you can see some great tips, motivation, recipes, and meal plans that I share throughout the week.

T25 and 21 Day Fix Progress Update

Happy Wednesday!  I can not believe it is almost the end of September already!  I haven't done a progress update in a little while so I thought I'd do a quick one.  If you follow my blog or Facebook page, then you probably know that I have been doing Focus T25 the past few weeks.  I completed PiYO last month and wanted something quick and effective to do while I waited for the release of P90.  So, here I am in the middle of Week 3 of T25 and still following my 21 Day Fix nutrition plan.  Things have been going smoothly and I have stayed on track with my meal plan.

21 day fix meal plan, meal planning, clean eating
21 Day Fix Meal
21 day fix meals, clean eating snacks, 21 day fix snacksI added some different snacks / meals to my meal plan and was anxious to share them all.  For starters, I took 21 Day Fix trainer Autumn Calabrese's advice and had broccoli with lemon zest and balsamic vinegar as a snack.  It was super simple and a really quick snack.  On Sunday I made the broccoli and then portioned it out using my green 21 Day Fix container.  Then, when I grabbed it out of the fridge for my afternoon snack each day, I heated it up and added some lemon zest and balsamic vinegar to it.  It was delicious!  I'm not sure why I didn't think to do this sooner!

21 day fix meals, clean eating snacks, 21 day fix snacksAlthough it is not on this specific meal plan, another quick afternoon snack that I like to do is mixed veggie stir fry.  I usually chop up some random veggies, throw them in a skillet with some garlic, lemon, and balsamic vinegar and then again, portion them out using my green 21 Day Fix container.  Yet again, when I want to eat it all I do is grab it from the fridge and heat it up! Viola!

In addition to the veggie snacks, I also made a good Pumpkin Shakeology.  I usually stick to my usual recipe, but in honor of it being Fall (and the fact that I love pumpkin), I wanted to give this a try again!  As expected, it was fantastic!
Shakeology, Pumpkin Pie Shakeology, Pumpkin Shakeology
Pumpkin Shakeology

Here is the Recipe:
1 scoop Chocolate (or vanilla) Shakeology
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Add some ice and blend it up!

I love that I have a great "go-to" snack and meal that provides me my daily dose of nutrients, keeps me feeling full, gives me energy, and curbs my cravings. I mean, seriously, this shake tasted like a pumpkin pie yet it is packed with super foods!

clean eating, oven baked fajitas
Oven Baked Fajitas
As for my dinners, I tried TWO new dinner recipes and absolutely LOVED them!  The first was called oven baked fajitas.  We are a fajita loving family but I have to say, sometimes I feel like they take forever to make because by the time I get everything cut up and cooking, I've got multiple skillets on the stove and rush around trying to get everything done at the same time.  So, I came across this recipe and let's just say, I will make fajitas no other way!

clean eating, turkey chili
Turkey Chili
Another new dinner I tried, which I'm pretty sure has now made it high on my family's favorite list is turkey chili.  We are not a real ground turkey kind of family so I was hesitant on trying it; however, I am so glad I did!  This is definitely a MUST TRY!

As for my workouts, I have been staying on track with Focus T25.  What more can I say, I love that I can go full speed ahead for 25 minutes and be done....for the day!

T25 workouts

My workouts for the past couple of weeks have included:
Total Body Circuit
Ab Intervals
Lower Focus
Speed 1.0

fitness motivation, T25

My personal favorites in the Alpha phase of T25 are Ab Intervals and Lower Focus.  I love doing ab workouts and am still striving for that 6 pack.  Oddly enough, I also enjoy doing leg workouts.  I'm just not fond of the jello leg feeling afterwards ;)

So, I am going to finish up the Alpha phase of T25 next week and rather than heading into Beta, I am going to be starting Tony Horton's newest workout, P90!  To be honest, I was hesitant as to whether or not I wanted to get it but once more information was released, I got a glimpse of some of the workouts and learned more about it, I decided I wanted to give it a go!  Seriously, you can't go wrong with Tony Horton! P90 is considered to be the "gateway to fitness" so, if you are someone who doesn't really want that high intensity workout, then this could be for you!
P90, Tony Horton
P90 Kit
I often get asked how do you stay motivated?  My answer?  Accountability Groups! (aka Challenge Groups).  Even though I provide support, motivation, and accountability to help keep people on track to reaching their health and fitness goals, they keep me on track too!  Yes, there are certainly days where I don't feel like doing my workouts.  There are days where I am tempted to grab the ice cream out of the fridge, but you know what?  I check in to my accountability group, see the daily successes for everyone, and realize that I can do that too! Staying consistent and keeping your goals in check will get you to where you want to be.

So, what's in store for October?

* For starters, on October 6th, there is going to be an exclusive 90 day P90 group.  Everyone in the group will be doing P90 and you will have the support and guidance through the entire length of the program!

** On October 13th, I plan to have TWO groups starting!
The first is an exclusive 21 Day Fix group, which will be specific to the 21 Day Fix. (21 Day Fix meal plans will be included) This challenge pack is actually on promotion until September 30th, so, if you are interested in the program (it's definitely one of my favs), then now is the time to get it!  It is only $10 with a bag of Shakeology!

The second group will be a 30 day Fall in to Fitness.  Within this group, you can choose ANY Beachbody Challenge pack / workout program you want!   We can chat about your goals and I can recommend a few programs (if you don't already have one in mind), then, you can get added in to the group so that you can have the support to keep you on track.  Meal planning will be included in this group too!

Please Note:  My groups are added support for my personal customers, so, in order to be in them, I must be your coach.

So what do you say?  Which group do YOU want to be a part of?!

A FREE Opportunity for You!

Becoming a Beachbody Coach, Beachbody Coach Free Group, Work from Home Opportunities, Health and Fitness Jobs, Part Time Health and Fitness Jobs,
5 Day FREE Beachbody Coach Group
Happy Sunday!  So, I typically like to do a Sunday post about meal planning and whatever workout I've been focusing on; however, I thought I'd switch things up a bit today.  I have an AMAZING opportunity to offer you!  Beginning tomorrow, September 22, I am inviting you to a 5 Day Beachbody Coach Q&A online group.  It will run through a closed Facebook group so only the members of the group can see what is being posted.  You will have the privilege of hearing from the currently ranked #1 coach in the company, as well as other successful coaches on the Dream Team.  This will be your chance to listen about the logistics of the business, the time involved, and the exclusive opportunities that are available to you when joining the Dream Team - a perk of being on the #1 team :)

Beachbody is unlike any other company or "job that I have come across.  I'll be honest, just like many others, I was skeptical at first.  I was worried about the whole "pyramid scheme" and I was super concerned with becoming a "salesperson."  Truth be told, neither of these scenarios represent the company.  You don't have to "jump down people's throats" trying to sell products and make a quota.  It's not like that AT ALL! In fact, many people that I come across have been misinformed about what coaching is all about.  As a result, I acknowledged those Top 10 Misconceptions with REAL, LEGIT, responses. As a coach, I share the tips, foods, and programs that are working for ME and my family. I display positive motivation in hopes that even one person each day is inspired to make a healthy choice.

CEO calls to Successful Coaches

If I'm being honest, I was a bit of a pessimist before finding Beachbody.  I found excuse after excuse as to why something wouldn't work.  I always looked at things in a perspective of "what could go wrong."  Since joining Beachbody, and more specifically, The Dream Team,  I am surrounded by positive, inspirational leaders who support and motivate each other.  NO ONE is left to fail.  We have  a system in place that truly helps new coaches and sets them up for success.

Beachbody honors and respects their coaches.  the CEO of the company, Carl Daikeler, personally calls successful coaches!  We are even recognized and rewarded for our success in helping others.   That is something that I was NOT used to and is such a great feeling!

Beachbody Coach Rewards
Take, for example, the July Team Beachbody Cup challenge.  To keep it simple and short, during the month of July, coaches created teams of 5 and had a contest as to which team could help the most people throughout the  month.    How did we do that?  We ran online accountability groups where we invited people to join.  Within the groups we taught about healthy eating, meal planning, shared our personal tips (lots of traveling/vacation tips at the time), and provided that motivation and accountability to keep people on track to reaching their health and fitness goals.  As a results, I have been rewarded with awesome new {free} Beachbody Gear, and even a {free} Up by Jawbone!  Incredible!  All of this just by helping others, something that seems so common?  Are you serious?!

Yet again, in August, {again, by helping others succeed in their goals}, coaches were rewarded with a cool fitness gear pack: stability ball, speed rope, and agility ladder!

Beachbody Coach Commission
As I approach, and as people approach me, about the coaching opportunity, a common comment that comes up is "it sounds too good to be true."  It does, doesn't it?!  Honestly, taking this risk and leap of faith has been one of the best decisions in my life.  I am truly living my life by design.  I have control of where  my business is headed and I can not wait for what the future brings!  I really don't want to turn this post into money; however, I want to share with you the potential (in a short amount of time) that you can achieve as a coach.  In one week's time, I was able to take care of the monthly preschool cost for my two toddlers, my daughter's monthly dance tuition, and a few other monthly expenses.  In one week!  Beachbody coaching is providing me with that "extra fluff" so that staying home with my daughters doesn't cause a financial burden to my family.  And if you have the thought that you need to be home all day in order to succeed in this business, you are WAY off.  It comes down to how bad you want it.  EVERYONE is busy.  You are certainly not alone!  Just because I am home with my girls doesn't mean I am on the computer all day long!  It's not possible!  I can't tell you how many coaches on the Dream Team have a full time job, 2+ kids at home, and crazy busy schedules. It's about prioritizing.   Is it worth staying up an extra hour at night or getting up a little bit earlier in the morning?  Are you willing to sacrifice some evening TV time?

So I ask, could this be a good fit for you?  I know being a Beachbody coach isn't for everyone.  I get it!  But what if it IS for YOU?  How would it make you feel to help others reach their health and fitness goals all while you are reaching yours?  You don't have to have some fancy degree and you don't even have to at your goal body.  You just have to have a heart and care about others and their success.

Before you think that it's too late to jump on board, check out part of Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler's post as of this morning:

Since joining Beachbody just over a year ago, Focus T25, P90X3, 21 Day Fix, PiYO, and soon to be P90, Insanity Max 30, and the 21 Day Fix Extreme has been (or will be) released.  This solid company is not going anywhere.  We all have the common motive of helping to end obesity.

Are you curious if this is something that YOU could not only do, but SUCCEED in? You may not have a goal of doing something like this full time, but just want to help others all while earning that "extra fluff" to your budget.  Are you curious as to what it takes, how to make money, and the commitment involved?

Join me TOMORROW for the 5 Day Sneak Peek.  Heck, it's FREE!  There are  NO strings attached and no purchase necessary!  All you need is about 10 minutes each day to check in with the daily post(s).  You will be able to ask any and all questions that you  have in order to see if this is a good fit for you.  If you decide it's not for you, no problem!  If you decide to move forward, we can chat about your business goals and I will help set you on a path to success!  After all, you WILL be a part of the #1 team in the company!  There is an exclusive training for beginning coaches so that you are not figuring everything out on your own.  You get to work at your pace, on your own goals, and ask any and all questions you have to a team of positive, knowledgeable leaders.

Turkey Chili

Let me start by saying that Ground Turkey is forbidden in my house.  I've tried to trick my husband with it and sure enough, he tastes it EVER time.  A challenger in one of my groups posted this recipe a few weeks ago and it looked so good!  I really wanted to give it a try and even debated on just using Ground Beef to avoid the argument; however, I decided to give this one last try.  I did switch up the recipe a bit by using some fresh tomatoes rather than all canned and I also added a little corn and black beans.  Guess what?!  IT WORKED!  I said nothing and I hid the Ground Turkey container.   My husband's response when he tasted it was: "This is really good!"  I personally loved it and was hoping he would too so we could add it to our dinner rotation list.  We had a good bit leftover so I was happy to be able to have it again for lunch the following day; however, when I went to the fridge, all of the leftovers were GONE!  He took the entire container to work with him!

So your question is, What did he say when  he found out?  The answer to that is, he still doesn't know!  Come on, I"m not going to give up my secret :)

Ok, on to the recipe....
This would be great to make and have on hand this weekend during the football games!

  • 3 Tbsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

What is P90?

Tuesday, September 23, a BRAND NEW Tony Horton fitness program is coming out called P90!  That's right!  Tony Horton, you know, the creator of amazing workouts like P90X, P90X2, and P90X3?!!
Complete details have not been released yet but I want to take some time to tell you everything I know about this new program.

P90 Fitness Program

What is P90?

Let me start by asking, have you ever tried, or maybe been intimidated by the P90X series?  It's a TOUGH program!  I have to admit, it took me a long time to make the commitment to P90X3 when it came out!   I was afraid to fail at it since I wasn't in the best of shape at the time.  So, while those are all fantastic programs, let's face it, some people feel like they are just not ready for something quite as intense.  Let me tell you....you are not alone in that thinking, hence, the creation of P90!   Tony Horton saw the need for a program, like P90, that was based on the foundational skills to advancing to a more extreme workout.  Sometimes starting out with an extreme fitness program without the common knowledge of the foundational skills pushes you over the limit.  P90 starts at the beginning, building core strength, stability, and correct form.  P90 is NOT a high intensity workout.  It is simple cardio and simple workouts, yet, extremely effective. Come on, do you really  think Tony Horton would release a product that is simple and INEFFECTIVE?  We're talking about the P90X guy! Definitely not!

How long is the P90 Program and what does it include?
P90, Tony Horton, P90 Workouts, P90 Nutrition Guide, P90 Results
P90 Nutrition Guide

P90 is a 90 day fitness program, separated in to three months (A, B, and C).  Each month you will progress to help you lose weight and get the results you deserve. It comes with 10 workouts on 4 DVD's including a BONUS P90X3 workout!  You can catch a glimpse of some of those workouts as well as the time lengths, below.  You can expect to spend an average of 25 to 30 minutes per day with this program and the moves are modified from day 1 so everyone can do the workout!

In addition, this program comes with a simple nutrition guide called the "P90 Simple Kitchen." This guide was designed for the same type of person who will be tackling the P90 workouts - someone who doesn't have time (or want) to count calories, track progress on spreadsheets, or watch every single carb that enters your mouth!

Is P90 really for ANYONE?

P90 is for anyone at any fitness level and ANY age.  You don't have to be in great shape to complete this program.  You can be a beginner doing a fitness program for the first time, or you could be someone who IS fit but doesn't want to do something extreme like the P90X series. You don't need a hardcore workout to get great results and lose weight.  This program is exactly that!  If you are someone who wants to be in good health with daily exercise, good nutrition and an overall healthy, strong, energized life, then this program could definitely be for you!!

Obviously results can vary, but here is a peek at some of the typical results from P90:

So, what do you think?  Is this something YOU'D like to try with me? I have a Fall in to Fitness Challenge Group beginning on October 13 that I would love for you to join!

What is a Challenge Group?

It is a closed Facebook group where no one but the members of the group can see what is being posted.  We will begin with setting realistic goals, taking our before stats, learning  how to meal plan and prep and how to set yourself up for success.  Each day you will log in to the group to find a post of the day that includes anything from motivation, recipes, tips, meal plans, and more!  We will track our progress through checking in with the group and you WILL succeed!  I will be there every step of the way to keep you motivated and on track!  Seriously, what do you have to lose?!  Maybe a few bad habits and a few pounds?!

The requirements of the group are that you purchase the P90 Challenge Pack through me as your coach.  With a new release, there will be a special promotional pricing; however, I do not have that number yet.  You will have access to all of the details to get the package once you complete and submit the application below.  Please Note: I  must be your coach and only my customers and coaches are allowed to participate in the group.

Here's the catch....the program can only be purchased through a Team Beachbody Coach, like me, beginning on September 23.  It will not be released through the general Beachbody site until a later date.

I do put a max limit on my groups in order to provide individual support, so, please be sure to complete the application below.

Oven Baked Fajitas

A friend of mine recommended this oven baked fajitas recipe in one of my challenge groups and, being a family who loves fajitas, I knew I had to give it a try!  I sometimes feel like making fajitas can be a pain when cooking everything in a skillet and let me tell you, this is the PERFECT solution!  Throw everything in one dish, pop it in the oven and viola!

T25 and 21 Day Fix Week 1

Focus T25, Health and Fitness Accountability Groups
Focus T25
Good Sunday Afternoon! It is a beautiful Fall morning and I thought I'd write a quick blog post outlining my first week of following the 21 Day Fix plan while doing the T25 workouts.  When I completed PiYO I thought it would be a good change to go back to some traditional cardio; however, short workouts are a MUST!  For me, life is just too busy for long workouts!  I'm sure you are with me on that, right?!  Both of my girls have started preschool a few mornings a week, my oldest daughter started dance class and the crazy schedule has set in! So, I decided that I would go back to Focus T25 for several reasons.

1. 25 Minute workouts?  Heck yeah!!
2. It is a 60 day program.  I can do this for two months!
3. It mixes traditional cardio as well as resistance training. It even comes with a resistance band!
4. Did I mention ALL of the workouts are only 25 minutes?!
5. There are a variety of workouts so I won't get bored.
6. There is a modifier in every workout and there are definitely times that I need her!
7.  Who DOESN'T love working out with Shaun T?!

Focus T25, Health and Fitness Accountability Groups, 21 Day Fix
Let's Do This!

The last time I did a round of T25 was last November/December.  It was around the holidays (obviously) and while I did get great results, they could have been better.  So, with nothing really in the way that would derail my progress, this is the PERFECT time for me to begin! I'm already one week down!

21 Day Fix, Health and Fitness Accountability Groups
21 Day Fix Containers
As usual, I am sticking with my 21 Day Fix meal planning.  I seriously can't get enough of this!  It is totally true that this program teaches you how to live a healthy life. It is not a quick fix diet.  After doing a few strict rounds, I am to the point where I don't have to actually use the containers too much.  I do keep them out on my counter and I do pull them out to measure things here and there; but, for the most part, I can "eyeball" my portion sizes.  This is a lifestyle change at its best!

For those of you who have done, are doing, or have read a lot about the 21 Day Fix,  you may be wondering if I am strictly following the 21 Day fix Eating Plan.  The answer is, yes, for the most part.  Do I have an extra treat here and there?  Yes.  Do I sometimes make some recipes that involves ingredients that are not in the 21 Day fix book?  Yes.  Do I eat Quest bars every now and then?  Yes.  Do I make sure I get all (or most) of my containers in on a daily basis?  Yes!  You have to do what works for YOU.  And for me, this is it!
So, here was my first meal plan that I followed for Week 1 of Focus T25 and the 21 Day Fix:

I didn't actually try any new snack/dinners this week; however, I did try out some different "treat" recipes!  Oh, and a new Shakeology recipe!  I realized that since chocolate Shakeology is the main flavor that I drink every single day, I don't really offer a variety of recipes for the different flavors.  So, I had some extra strawberry Shakeology from the other month and had some watermelon cut up in the fridge so I thought....why  not?!  I remember passing along this recipe to a challenger of mine and her saying how much she loved it, so, I gave it a try and it was hit with not only me, but my 2 year old as well!  It is called Strawberry-Watermelon Shakeology and is simple to make.

In addition to the strawberry watermelon Shakeology recipe, I tried out a couple of "treat" recipes.  The first was Cinnamon Banana Bread Cookies.  These were super good and were delicious when heated up a bit!  If you like banana bread then you would definitely like these!

The other recipe I tried was just last night and boy was it a hit!  After dinner I threw together some homemade Baked Apple Crisp.  It seriously took about 5-10 minutes to prep and it baked for about 25-30 minutes.  We all tried it right out of the over and it was mouth watering delicious!  I have to admit, although it was fantastic by itself, my husband and I did add a small scoop of vanilla ice cream on top to make it in to a dessert cheat treat :)  This is seriously a MUST TRY!

Ok let's talk T25!

T25 Workouts
T25 Week 1

The workouts that I did for Week 1 are as follows:
Monday: Cardio
Tuesday: Speed 1.0
Wednesday: Total Body Circuit
Thursday: Ab Intervals
Friday: Lower Focus
Saturday: Cardio
Sunday: Rest

I was a bit nervous about going from low impact / high intensity PiYO to high impact / high intensity Focus T25.   I spent the summer doing such a different type of cardio that I got out of the habit of traditional cardio.  I have to admit, Week 1 was a bit tough, but, by the end of the week I was feeling great!  I could actually tell a difference in my strength and flexibility with several of the moves, which I am crediting PiYO for.

No More Excuses

Overall, I am feeling strong going in to Week 2 of T25.  I am committed to completing this program and can't wait to see my results!

So, I have to ask, how often do you think to yourself, I wish I had the time to devote to myself? How often do you think that you just don't have the time to plan out your  meals and truly live "healthy?"

That's where I come in to the picture!  I felt the SAME way.  With two toddlers and working full time when I first started, I never thought I would be able to commit to having "me" time every single day.  I  mean, I'm lucky to be able to take a shower without being interrupted by my little ones!  I can proudly say that I have figured it out, for now at least!  I have been able to prioritize my day so that I am not only available to my kids, but I also have time to myself.  I'm telling you, it CAN be done if YOU WANT it to be done.

I would love to include you in my next online Health and Fitness Accountability Group!  My groups range from  21 Day Fix Up for Fall groups to 30 day Fall in to Fitness groups, both of which are beginning in early October.  Let me help you figure out a way to to incorporate healthy living in to your lifestyle.  Within my groups I provide customizable meal plans, 1:1:, and group support .  Sometimes all it takes are small tweaks to see those results!

Baked Apple Crisp

I came across this recipe on the Team Beachbody website and HAD to give it a try!  As soon as I saw it I added the ingredients that I needed to my grocery list. So, after dinner tonight it took me about 10 minutes to prep and about 25-30 minutes in the oven.  It was mouth watering good!
