My Leap of Faith and how I can help YOU do the same!

First day of Kindergarten!
Today was the big day!  My oldest daughter Sophia went to school for her FIRST day of Kindergarten!  I have been very thankful and blessed to have stayed home with her for the past two years.  Prior to that, I was an elementary teacher (for 8 years) and went to school every day myself! My last few years of teaching I just couldn't shake that pit in my stomach of having my girls go to the babysitters every single day.  It was time that I would never get back, let alone the time I spent each night doing lesson plans, grading papers, attending events, etc.  Two years ago I took that leap of faith and my husband and I decided that I would stay home and enjoy my time with our daughters. I wanted to be there for their first days of preschool. I wanted to be able to pick them up rather than keep them in a daycare. I wanted to be able to stay home with them if they were sick without having to worry about taking a day off or creating plans for a substitute. While I LOVE the classroom, my heart was just somewhere else. So, for the third August, I WASN'T out at Walmart spending tons of money on school supplies for my students and I WASN'T spending hours getting my classroom ready or stressing about beginning of the year plans.  Despite the persona of teachers having their summers off, teaching is a TOUGH and stressful job!  After all, THEY are the ones keeping children safe and spending just as much time, if not more, with kids. So, instead, I was HOME getting ready for my daughter to go to Kindergarten and in another week my other daughter will be heading to preschool!  I haven't had to worry about taking all of the days off work to attend orientations and parent-teacher meetings.  Let me tell you, it was AWESOME!

I give all of the credit in the world to full-time working moms.  I have lived both worlds and each has it's advantages and disadvantages.  As I  began my journey as a stay at home mom, I began a new adventure too! I became a Beachbody Coach!  Some people laughed at it (maybe not so much anymore though!).  Some people thought I was crazy for giving up a teaching position.  Some people thought I was even crazier for thinking that I could make some MLM company work for MY lifestyle.  With all of that negativity, I stuck with it and just kept chugging along with reaching my goals.

I actually started several months prior with my own transformation. I didn't consider myself UNHEALTHY, but I knew that I needed to realign my priorities. Sure enough, I had great success!  Not only was I a whole heck of a lot healthier, but I felt FANTASTIC! Even better, I was able to get my family on the healthy track!

Beachbody Transformation

So what DO I do as a Beachbody Coach?

Successfully Fit, Beachbody Coach Training, Becoming a Beachbody Coach, Work from Home Opportunities, Lisa Decker, Star Diamond Beachbody Coach
Accountability Groups
Well, for starters, I run these awesome online accountability groups!  They are through closed Facebook groups so only the members of the groups can see what is being posted.  I provide support, accountability, and motivation as participants work through Beachbody programs that I have helped them select (based on THEIR needs and goals).  These groups are for my personal customers, Coaches, and their customers as well!  I like to take the stress off of my new coaches so I personally run the groups while they add their customers and keep tabs on them.

Another aspect of Coaching is the fact that I, myself, stay healthy!  I make my daily workout a priority and that has rubbed off on my girls as well. It means the world to me that I can positively influence my girls so that they create the same healthy habits.  If you are thinking, I don't have time, I actually started doing this while I WAS working full time outside of my home.  It took some time and was a bit stressful at first, but once I got my new scheduled aligned, it was like second nature!

Positive Influence
These changes have allowed me to master these positive habits that really don't seem like all that much work like they did when I first started ;)

Meal Planning
In addition to staying healthy, I get a nice discount on Beachbody products, which allows me to give lots of them a try! Oh, and I of course love my daily shakeology!  Who can beat spending $3.32 per day on a super healthy meal that gives you energy and keeps you fill for 2 1/2 to 3 hours?!!

I have also been able to successfully build a team of Coaches who are out there helping others and changing lives!  I love nothing more than to recognize them each and every Thursday as they reach new heights and accomplishments.  The friendships alone that I have made have been 100% worth it!

So I want to ask...WHY NOT YOU?!!!  In making all of these changes for myself and my family, I have not only been able to truly help and inspire others, but I have also been able to contribute a solid income to my family. While we were never living "paycheck to paycheck," we did cut out some of the "fluff" when I decided to stay home.  That isn't a concern anymore. I'm doing something that I truly LOVE and have a passion for, without having that pit in my stomach that I am taking time away from my kids.  I have been able to build my self confidence and push through those tough times when I wanted to throw in the towel. I've been able to reach goals that I didn't think was possible. I have been able to do this all while being my OWN boss, working my OWN hours, and putting in as much effort as I want.  I do want to note that the success of each Coach is dependent on him or her.  Because you have complete control over your business and how you build it, your success DOES depend on the effort that you put in to it.

Why NOT you?

So, how can I help YOU do the SAME THING?!!  Or maybe you aren't necessarily looking to replace your full time job but would like something fun and worthy to do on the side.  Either way, I have a GREAT training opportunity that I enroll all of my new Coaches (who want to work the business) in to.

I have created my Successfully Fit Coach Training Academy!  It is through a closed Facebook group and is exclusive to my personally sponsored Coaches and downline.  It is designed to last 30 days; however, it is SELF-PACED!  YOU get to decided how fast or slow you work through it and YOU get to decide when you are ready to complete the different assignments. I am able to match YOUR pace and mentor you through this training.  You will be provides the tools and resources that can help get your business up and running in a successful way, given that you put the effort in.  I am excited to offer this opportunity to my new Coaches because it allows them to truly set their own tone for their business.

So again, WHY NOT YOU?!!! There are so many misconceptions about what Coaching is and is not. I can honestly say that my team is full of kind, caring, compassionate women who are goal driven and passionate about what they do.  I could not be more blessed with such a great team!

I would LOVE to help YOU not only reach your health and fitness goals, but also your business goals!  My Coach Training Academy is going to be restarting on September 7th! If you are interested in Beachbody Coaching and would like to sign up or chat about it, you can fill out and submit the form below!  I will then be in touch!!

10 Quick, Easy, Healthy Crock Pot Dinners for that Back to School Craziness

The time has come where some kiddos have already headed back to school! Around me, the kids begin next week!  Teachers have been SUPER BUSY setting up their classrooms this week and life is about to get a bit more hectic! Back to school means new schedules, new routines, after school activities, sports, homework.....YIKES!!  I know for myself, my youngest daughter will be starting preschool, my oldest daughter will be heading to Kindergarten, and she is also involved in soccer, so we are at the beginning stages of the craziness! Whether you are a teacher heading back to work or just getting used to a new schedule as your kids head back to school, it's always nice to have some quick, easy, HEALTHY staple dinners that you don't have to put too much effort in to.  So, I have compiled a great little list of crock pot meals that I think will hopefully help you as the Back to School season gets in to full swing!

This is HANDS DOWN my FAVORITE crock pot meal!!  Seriously, it is SO good! So here's my tips....add some extra chicken and extra balsamic when you cook this.  Then, you can use that extra chicken in a salad or wrap for lunch the following day or two!

Can I REALLY fit Beachbody Coaching into MY schedule? Find out with a 5 day SNEAK PEEK group!

Becoming a Beachbody Coach, Is Beachbody a Scam, Is Beachbody a Pyramid Scheme, How to Make Money as a Beachbody Coach, How to Sign Up as a Beachbody Coach, What is a Beachbody Coach, Successfully FitGood Evening!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!!  It's been quite the week and weekend for me! I feel like I haven't stopped in DAYS!  I'm sure you can relate!  The other morning my girls were at my parents and I had some "me" time to get some work done, which was lovely!  As I was working, I was in a few conversations with others about none other than...Beachbody!!  Why?  Well, as I post here and there about what my "job" is, people seem to be intrigued.  I have "job" in quotations because well, it really doesn't feel like a job! Two years ago this month I decided to step out of my comfort zone and 'go with my gut instinct!'  I decided that instead of teaching 6th grade students, I would run these little closed Facebook groups and help adults get (and stay) healthy!  I really didn't know where it would take me, but I knew that it was something that I at least wanted to give it a try.  On top of that, who knew that there was a job out there that allows you to earn an income simply by helping others achieve THEIR goals! I love it!!  I'm not here to discuss finances, but I can tell you that my income has quadrupled since August of 2014.  Sometimes I just can't wrap my brain around it.

I spent 3 months prior in one of these challenge groups myself (with my Coach of course) and completely fell in love with the concept. It was amazing to me at how many people within that group not only got healthy, but they gained confidence, happiness, and impacted their families health as well!  It was crazy!  So, naturally, I wanted to help others do the same!  So for the past 2 years that's exactly what I have been doing!

When I decided to actually work the business as a Coach, I had a few options to make (unbeknownst to me).  I thought a Coach was a Coach!  It really doesn't work that way though.  There are different avenues and approaches that you can take.  Aside from chatting frequently with my Coach, I was pretty clueless when I first started.  I didn't have any sort of "sneak peek" to see how Coaching would fit my lifestyle or if it would even work, let alone a group that provides this information for FREE!

So as I was chatting with some friends, I thought I would put together another 5 Day Sneak Peek group that teaches / explains to people what exactly Coaching is all about.  These groups are a hit for four main reasons.
1. It's FREE! The only stipulation is that you are not already a Coach and/or not actively working with a Coach.

2. It gives each member an opportunity to learn specifics like how to find customers, how to earn money, misconceptions, FAQ's, and more!  It also provides each member an opportunity to ask his or her questions that may not be addressed within the group, and to also get clarification if necessary.

3. It's only 5 days long!  Each morning and evening from Monday-Friday I do a different type of post explaining more information about Coaching as a business.  All you have to do is check in each day / evening, read the post, and ask any questions! Simple as that!

4. There are no strings attached!  In joining the group you are not required to create an account, purchase anything, or commit to signing up at the end.

So, TOMORROW, AUGUST 17th, I am hosting this 5 Day Sneak Peek group!   Let's face it, Coaching isn't for everyone!  I'm not the Coach who is going to tell and try to get everyone to sign up.  Some people find that this job just isn't a good fit and that's OK!!  That's the point!  I don't want people to sign up and then quit a month later!
Becoming a Beachbody Coach, Is Beachbody a Scam, Is Beachbody a Pyramid Scheme, How to Make Money as a Beachbody Coach, How to Sign Up as a Beachbody Coach, What is a Beachbody Coach, Successfully Fit
There is so much potential with Beachbody and Coaching that it just doesn't feel real! Believe me though, IT IS!!  It's not a "get rich quick" thing and it's not a "sign everyone up and bug your friends and family thing." This is truly a life changing job!

So, you may be wondering what happens if you decide to sign up, right?  I am excited to announce that I have created a Successfully Fit Coach Training Academy that is a SELF PACED group. You get to decide how often you want to put time in, when, and how much effort too! Oh, and you can wear whatever the heck you want as well!  This training is specifically designed to help you gain knowledge and get your business up and running.  The great thing about our team is that there is no reinventing the wheel! We are actually a part of the #1 team IN THE COMPANY so the resources and opportunities are ENDLESS!

Your success, of course, depends on YOU! Beachbody does not guarantee any level of success or income from the Team Beachbody Coach Opportunity. Each Coach’s income depends on his or her own efforts, diligence, and skill. While I can help guide and mentor you along the way, it does take some work on your end.   We will chat about your goals and  devise a plan, together, to reach and make those goals accomplished!

If I have learned one thing, it's that life is too short to be miserable and negative.  If you aren't happy with what you are doing, then make a change!  Take a risk!  Whether you are looking in to Coaching to help others, pay it forward, earn a little extra spending money, or create a full time job, it's worth a FREE 5 Day Sneak Peek to find out, don't you think?

Caprese Chicken

I tried a new dinner tonight from once again, the Fixate Cookbook! I did add my own little variation to the recipe so it is not exact to the book. I based it on the ingredients that I had.  No surprise to me, it was fantastic! It's definitely going on the rotation list! Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Directions:
  1. Season both sides of chicken with pepper.

30 Day Back to School Challenge!

Happy Monday!!  Ok so don't hate me for saying this, but we all know what's coming.  BACK TO
SCHOOL!! I know I know, that means it's almost the end of Summer....booo!!!! Trust me, I don't want to see Summer end either; BUT, I have to admit, Fall is my FAVORITE season!  Can you believe the leaves on the trees in my back yard already started to change?!!! With school starting up that means a few things.  Teachers are heading back to work, kids are heading back to school, relaxing Summer family schedules are about to be crazy again with school activities, sports, school, maybe daycare/babysitters, etc.  Ahh!!! It kinda makes you want to scream, huh?  My oldest daughter starts Kindergarten this year so I'm already mapping out how my morning is going to go.  And then of course we have soccer practice and soccer games.

Yep, sometimes I feel like this!  Can you relate?!

So, here's the thing.  A lot of people are probably thinking "I don't want to start something new right now when my life is going to be turned upside down once school schedules begin."  Are you one of those people? Look, I get it. As a mom, it's hard to put myself first but one thing that I learned is that I truly am a better person when I squeeze that "me" time in each day.  So, think of it this way.... your schedules are going to change, you may not have as much time to make dinner, you will be on-the-go if your kids are involved in activities, and life is just going to be BUSY!  Why NOT start something new?  I have found that it is so much easier to make lifestyle changes when other changes are being made too.  With the new routine, it will be easier to get you and your family into those clean, new, positive habits.

What does that mean?  Well, the first week everyone is going to create their goals, take their measurements, and get SUPPORT through the meal planning process.  Then, we will kick off the challenge!  I will share my busy mom tips, crock pot recipes, and time management tips all while providing YOU with support, motivation, accountability, 1:1 AND group support!  Whew! How does THAT sound?!

Are you ready to make this change?!  I mean, there really isn't a PERFECT time to start.  Believe me, I've heard all of the excuses.  It's tough to start during the summer time due to family vacations, picnics, frozen drinks, etc. It's tough to start close to the holidays because well, it's the holidays!  It's tough to start in the middle of the Winter because people like to resort to those "comfort foods" that aren't necessarily healthy.  It's never ending!   So why not just start NOW?!!

What are the requirements?

  • First of all, my groups are only for my personal customers, Coaches, and their customers, so, I must be your assigned Team Beachbody Coach!  If you don't have a Coach, then you can sign up for a free account HERE! If you are actively working with a Coach then I encourage you to reach out to him or her to see what groups are available to you.  If you are unsure, contact me and we can discuss your options!
  • Secondly, we need to get you hooked up with a program and Shakeology!  We can discuss what your goals are and what you prefer as far as workouts go, then I will match you up with some options where you will ultimately choose.  Right now, Shaun T's newest program, CIZE is super popular!! If you like to dance, then this may be for you!  Of course, the 21 Day Fix is another extremely popular one too! As for the Shakeology, you can decide after the group is over whether or not you would like to continue. There is no pressure and no strings attached if you choose to cancel.

That's it!! So, what do you say?! I am officially opening up the group and availability NOW!  I have 5 NEW SPOTS AVAILABLE! Will YOU be one of them?

If you would like more info or to get first dibs on the new openings, please fill out and submit the form below!

I hope to hear from you before the group fills up!!

Happy Sunday!!  We are already heading in to the second week of August!  Yikes!!  Well, it took me an extra week, but, I got through Week 2 of CIZE!!  I'll be honest, I skipped a workout or two and when that happens I like to just start my week over again. Plus, the routines got a little tough so I used it as some extra practice to get the routines mastered.  So, I'm going to keep this post short and to the point!  In week 2 of Cize there are two different routines. Full Out, with some great Destiny's Child music, and In the Pocket, which has music by Ariana Grande.  In week 2 the routines get to be a little quicker, which is great!  Talk about working up a sweat!!  Below you will see the finished product of both workouts!

If you are thinking to yourself...I could never learn that....THINK AGAIN!!  Shaun T does an AWESOME JOB at spending extremely structured time through the first 30 minutes or so of the workouts before you "Cize It Up" and add it to the music.   And when it comes down to it, it's all about having some fun while getting some exercise in!   As you can see, my 3 and 5 year old daughter's are still loving the program!  This is the first program that I have had where my girls spend more than a couple of minutes trying to follow along. They are truly having fun!!

I am excited to jump in to week 3 and learn the last two routines!  Something that I have been doing before my full workout is doing the "CIZE IT UP" portion of each workout. It lasts about 3-5 minutes each and it a great warm up before I do the full workout. Plus, it's fun!   There is easy access to these portions of the workouts on Beachbody on Demand, which has been a go-to in this house!

I have to say, my husband made fun of my last night when at around 8:00pm I said that I wanted to work out.  Yes, on a Saturday night!  I know, we have such exciting lives! haha.  I didn't get a chance to work out in the morning and wanted to take advantage of my rest day today.  I will say, however, I heard him humming and singing the songs the rest of the night!

Let's talk NUTRITION!

My nutrition has been pretty on point throughout the program; however, I have had some cheats here and there.

My meals are based mainly on some of my go-to snacks and lunches as well as the FIXATE cookbook and the CIZE Eat Up plan.  As always, I have been sticking with my morning Shakeology EVERY SINGLE DAY. It really does help me get up and moving in the morning. I honestly look forward to it as soon as I wake up!  I mean, come on, who WOULDN'T love a peanut butter banana milkshake for breakfast, especially knowing that you are getting your daily dose of nutrients?!!

I did try something new this week before one of my workouts.  Beachbody has released a brand new Performance Line of products that will help to enhance and recover from your workouts.  While Coach Summit in Nashville, I was able to get my hands on a sample pack that included individual serving of each product (Energize, Hydrate, Recover, Recharge, and Creatine).  After the RAVE reviews from my friends, I decided to give ENERGIZE a try.  Let me tell you, the name fits PERFECTLY!! First of all, it was like drinking a glass of lemonade. YUM!  Secondly, after about 15-20 minutes I really did feel energized and ready to rock my workout. In fact, I busted out a double workout! HA!  I definitely plan to get myself some of this before the end of August since there is free shipping going on right now!

The second product that I tried was called RECOVER. It is a chocolate flavor and kinda tastes like instant hot chocolate (except cold)!  This too was really good!  For doing a double workout (plus the 8 minute Cize Ab workout) I have to say, I wasn't that sore!

Ok I just want to take a little bit more time sharing with you some of the recent recipes I have tried. First up, I have Banana Pie Oatmeal.  Talk about DELICIOUS!!  I got this recipe from the CIZE Eating Plan book. And actually, it was called Apply Pie Oatmeal and I totally messed up my pic. So, the next day I tried it with  bananas and sure enough, it was really good!!

Here's the recipe:

*1/4 cup steel cut oats (add about 3/4 cup water and cook on stove or microwave)
* 1/2 large banana - chopped (or you could make it in to an Apple pie and do 1 cup chopped apples).
* 8 walnut halves, chopped
* ground cinnamon

This next recipe came from the new Fixate cookbook.  My husband and I aren't huge fans of Sloppy Joes but we decided to give this recipe a try.  These Turkey Sloppy Joes were delicious!  I got the husband stamp of approval to add them to the rotation list too!

Whew!! Ok I TRIED to keep this short!  After fully completing 2 weeks of Cize, I am feeling great!! This has been such a nice switch up of workouts for me since I've been so used to doing the 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme.  While I still love those workouts and plan to continue to incorporate them in to my workout schedule, I have to admit, I REALLY look forward to my Cize workouts each day!  It's crazy!  At first I felt kinda silly having my own little dance party but now it's just down right FUN!!

If you want more of sneak peek in to CIZE, and an outline of the workouts, check out my Week 1 post HERE!!!

30 Day Back to School Challenge
So, I am now inviting YOU to my 30 day Back to School Challenge!  Beginning on August 17th, I am going to kick off a planning and prep week followed by 4 weeks of CIZE!!!  It is going to be a general group so any Beachbody Fitness program can be used, but, my returning challengers (who get first dibs on my groups) are all going to do Cize with me!  I am officially opening up the group and reserving spots TOMORROW!!!

Let's face it, I'm not wishing Summer away, but some school years have already started and if they haven't, it is in the NEAR future.  Schedules are going to get crazy and the relaxing summer days will soon be over.  Why not start making these small changes NOW so that your transition in to Fall goes smoothly?  Why not get on track with these healthy new habits and even inspire others with what you are doing?  Why NOT have a dance party in YOUR home every day?!!!

Turkey Sloppy Joes

I am LOVING the new Fixate Cookbook! I have yet to try something that I haven't like!  So, last night I made Turkey Sloppy Joes.  We are not typically ground turkey eaters; however, I like to throw some in there every now and then.  These were definitely worth the try!  They were really good and we even have some leftovers for tomorrow!  Give them a try and let me know what you think!

Ingredients: (Serves 4 at approx 1 1/4 cup each)

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped (I used some green and yellow too!)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 lb raw ground learn turkey  breast (93% lean)
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups natural tomato sauce (there is a sauce recipe in the cookbook that is recommend to use)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp all natural tomato paste
  • 1 tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup (or raw honey)
  • Finely chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Directions:
  1. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for 4 to 5 minutes or until onion is translucent.
  3. Add garlic; cook, stirring frequently for approx 1 minute.  Transfer onion / pepper / garlic mixture to separate bowl and set aside.
  4. Add turkey to the same skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently to break up the turkey (about 8-10 minutes), or until turkey is no longer pink.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add onion mixture, sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, tomato paste, pepper sauce, and maple syrup (or honey).  Mix well. Reduce heat to medium-low and gently boil, stirring occasionally for 15-20 minutes (or until sauce has thickened).
  7. Sprinkle each serving with parsley before serving, if desired.

I served this over an open-faced slice of whole-grain sprouted bread (Ezekiel bread).   You could serve it in a whole gain tortilla, on lettuce leaves, or even over some whole wheat pasta or quinoa!

If you follow a color coded portion control plan (like the 21 Day Fix), then the above recipe (serving over a slice of bread) would be 1 yellow, 1 red, 1 green and 1 tsp.

Enjoy!
