I am a mom of two beautiful daughters, Sophia (age 6) and Lilia (age 5). I was looking to get fit, gain more energy, and make healthier eating choices. I was also intrigued by the numerous nutrition, fitness, and motivational posts a friend of mine, a Beachbody Coach, was continually posting on Facebook. I wondered for months what this whole Beachbody thing was. When I was younger I never had to worry about my weight. I married right out of college and having to make my own dinner for me and my husband hit me like a brick wall! I didn't like to cook and found the easiest, processed, things to make. My weight slowly began to increase throughout my twenty's. I would skip meals here and there, lose a couple pounds, and then start all over again. I wasn't necessarily considered "overweight" but I didn't feel good about myself and was definitely towards the top of the range for my 5ft 1in height.
The months went on and I continued to read all of these great posts and see so many transformation and success stories. I couldn’t help but think that I should just make the commitment and give it a try. So I tossed the idea around for several weeks and then finally decided to join a Summer Slim Down Challenge Group in June 2013. I chose to sign up as a discount coach under my friend at that time. As a teacher, motivating and helping others has always been something fulfilling to me, so I wanted to get an inside look at what Beachbody coaching was all about. In the meantime the challenge group started and I began with the Turbo Fire fitness program, replacing one meal a day with Shakeology, and clean eating.
The challenge group helped me learn how to eat clean, make time for exercising, and most importantly, stay consistent! As for the Shakeology, I am mad at myself for not trying it sooner! I was against all of those “shake” drinks for a meal and thought people were crazy for drinking a meal! Boy was I wrong! I couldn’t be happier with my meal replacement and owe Shakeology for giving me the energy and nutrition that I need to keep up with my girls! I finally figured out why the Insanity and Brazil Butt Lift results weren’t happening. It was my eating! What I thought was “healthy” really wasn’t. I used to eat a flavored yogurt and big baggy of grapes for lunch every day and didn’t think about all of the sugar I was consuming!
So I spent my 60 days really learning how to eat clean and was able to transform my eating habits, as well as my families! I also read The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged by Tosca Reno to really dig deeper into nutrition. With the additional help of Turbo Fire and Shakeology, I had lost 10 pounds and 11 inches! I feel great and am continuing on my nutrition and fitness journey!
